Adobe Podcast will clean up an hour of speech a day for free, and for a lot of people that's enough. Upload a voice recording made in a kitchen, a car or an echoing classroom and press Enhance Speech. It comes back sounding as if it had been recorded in a studio. Around that button Adobe has built a small audio suite in the browser. In 2026 it also changed how the paid version is sold: premium features now come with the Adobe Firefly Pro plan instead of a separate Podcast subscription.

For many people the free plan is enough. An hour of enhanced audio a day covers a weekly podcast or a few voiceovers, as long as each file is under 30 minutes. The paid plan earns its price for video creators, who can enhance MP4 or MOV files directly, and for anyone processing long recordings or batches.
Enhance Speech removes background noise, echo and room tone and rebuilds the voice, which is why results can sound strikingly clean. That strength is also its limit. Pushed hard on a very noisy file, the result can sound processed, and on the free plan you can't dial it back. The paid plan's controls for speech, music and ambience let you keep some of the room, which usually sounds more natural for interviews and video.
Adobe Podcast Studio records solo episodes or remote interviews in the browser. It captures each participant locally as 16-bit, 48 kHz WAV on a separate track, so a guest's bad connection doesn't ruin their audio. Multitrack recordings from Zoom and Restream can be imported too. Editing works from the transcript, using the same transcription engine as Premiere Pro: delete a sentence in the text and it disappears from the audio. Pre-edited, royalty-free intros, outros, transitions and background music cover the rest of a simple episode.
The smaller tools are often the reason people come back. Caption video adds subtitles for social clips, and Remove music strips a backing track from a video so the speech stays usable. Transcribe exports a recording as text or PDF. Audiograms, short animated clips for promoting an episode, carry Adobe Podcast branding on the free plan and can be themed on the paid one.
The free limits shape a workable routine. Record the episode in Studio, where each person lands on a separate track. Keep segments under 30 minutes so each one fits a single free enhancement. Edit by trimming the transcript, then download within the two-projects-a-day allowance. Run the finished audio through Enhance Speech, staying under the one-hour daily cap. The transcript doubles as show notes, and the caption tool handles short promotional clips.
The routine breaks down in predictable places. Interviews may run past 30 minutes, video podcasts may need enhancement on the video file itself, or you may publish several episodes a day. Those are the cases where the paid plan pays for itself. A weekly audio show recorded in two halves of up to 30 minutes each fits within the free limits.
Descript is the deeper editor for podcasts and video, with its own Studio Sound enhancement and full timeline editing. Serious use needs a subscription, though.
