Drop in a vertical video, a talking-head clip, a product demo or a podcast snippet, and it adds the things that make shorts watchable: animated captions in a choice of styles, auto-zooms on key moments, B-roll and music, sound effects and transitions. It also cuts what slows a video down, silences, filler words and bad takes, cleans up audio and corrects eye contact. The homepage pitch is simple: edit shorts ten times faster with AI, from raw footage to viral shorts in one click.
Submagic says more than 4 million people use it. It is a French company, and its caption engine handles many languages, which makes it popular with creators outside the English-speaking market.

Each plan also includes AI credits for generating new videos and images: 45 on Starter, 120 on Pro and 300 on Business, which Submagic equates to 15, 40 and 100 generated videos.
Unlike clippers that charge per minute of uploaded footage, Submagic counts finished videos per member per month and caps their length. That suits short-form work well: a creator posting a 60-second video every other day fits inside Starter's 15 videos, and a daily poster needs Pro's 40.
The limits bite in two places: Starter's 2-minute cap rules out longer YouTube Shorts compilations and short tutorials, and per-member pricing means a team of three pays three times the plan price, each with their own allowance.

Submagic offers an API for automated captioning and editing. Starter and Pro include 10 minutes a month and Business 100; beyond that, monthly packs run from 250 minutes for $57 to 10,000 minutes for $1,000, or 23 cents down to 10 cents a minute. It is aimed at agencies and apps that caption large volumes of short video.
Creators pick Submagic for its captions: the templates, emoji and keyword highlighting, zooms and B-roll are the core of the product. Removing silences, filler words and bad takes and cleaning the audio fixes most of what makes phone-recorded talking-head clips feel amateur, and Starter at $12 a month billed yearly is one of the cheaper ways to get watermark-free, styled captions.
It does not find your clips, though. For long podcasts and webinars, a clipper such as OpusClip or Vizard should come first, with Submagic finishing the results. The features most creators want, auto-zooms, bad-take removal, premium B-roll and publishing, sit on Pro rather than Starter, per-member pricing adds up for teams, and 4K is reserved for Business.
Captions goes further in automatic full edits and AI actors, at $24.99 a month for Max. OpusClip and Vizard find clips in long videos; Submagic polishes short ones. CapCut offers more manual control and a large free tier, but adding styled captions, zooms and B-roll takes longer by hand.
